NOKIA UNVEILS ITS C3 TO THE NIGERIAN MARKET



Nokia has unvieled a ground breaking messaging solution on the new Nokia C3, which amongst other features, offers instant messaging to its users which is affordable and easy to set up.



The device which was built with social networking offers instant access to favorite social communities such as Facebook and Twitter straight from the home screen, while users can easily view, post, comment and update their status.

The device helps users to get messages across quickly having a QWERTY keyboard that helps in managing email, chat, calendar while music is simple with dedicated widgets on the home screen.

The Nokia C3 device which was launched in partnership with MTN Nigeria would enable users to pay a revolutionary data monthly subscription of N1000.00 on the MTN network giving them access to their email, chat, social networks and internet at an affordable rate.

Nokia noted that users who purchase the device can either activate it with either old or new MTN lines while adding that users would enjoy one month free access with MTN network.

Nokia representative, Marcel Van-de-pas said that this solution meets the desire of Nigerians who are always on the lookout for a good looking, affordable handset that allows them to stay continually connectedto communities that suits their lifestyle be it email, IM buddies, while offering instant access to Yahoomail and Messenger, Gmail, MSN Hotmail, Window Live Messenger, Facebook and Twitter.

According to him, “ The Nokia C3 also allows users to surf the web where ever they are so they can be sure to keep in tourch with their friends and family whenever they like. Nokia is the number one leader when it comes to giving consumers solutions to their mobile needs and with Nokia’s Ovi mail and Ovi chat on board, email and chats can be set up straight from the device”.

Van-de-pas noted that they partnered with MTN because of its wider coverage and thus added that they would partner with other networks in the country and that the device would work with any operators SIM card.

The West Africa retailing and Consumer Marketing Manager, Nokia, Titilayo Olubiyi, said the device is easy to set up, easy to use and above all affordable, while adding that users should send SMS “NOKIA to 131” after activating their SIM to enjoy one month free access from MTN network before they start paying N1000.00 monthly subscription to access the network.

The Chief Marketing Officer, MTN Nigeria, Bola Akingbade who was represented by MTN’s General Manager Product Development & Innovation, Ugonwa Nwoye, said they are happy to be associated with this new device which would help users to enjoy its services across board, adding that with the new offer users would be able to communicate to each other at an affordable rate.

He added that MTN would continue to support such initiatives which has been part of its culture in ensuring that everybody is carried along so that communication can be made much easier and affordable.

The device has a two mega-pixel camera, the Nokia C3 is great for taking pictures and videos which can be instantly shared online from the device to users favorite social network via GPRS.
