Etisalat Nigeria Extends Its Free Credit Promo

Etisalat Nigeria has continued to reward its subscribers with the extension of its SIM registration promotion tagged 9ja Free Credit Promo.

The promo which was designed to reward new and existing customers who register or have registered their SIMs with bonus credit to call any network in the country has been extended to September 30, 2011 to encourage subscribers to register their SIM cards before the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) deadline of September 28 for disconnection of all unregistered lines.

Speaking on the development, Etisalat’s Chief Commercial Officer, Wael Ammar said the decision to extend the promo was borne out of the need to afford subscribers more time to participate in the exercise and to ensure that all Etisalat SIMs are registered as stipulated by the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC). He noted with satisfaction the there has been a surge of subscribers seeking to register their SIM cards at Etisalat experience centres, distribution partner outlets and SIM registration outlets nationwide following the introduction of the 9ja Free Credit Promo on June 1, 2011.

“We have extended the 9ja Free Credit promo to coincide with the NCC deadline for disconnection of all unregistered SIM cards on September 28, 2011. We urge our subscribers who have not yet registered their SIM cards to do so before September 28 so that they can continue to enjoy our innovative products and services. For new subscribers who register between September 1 – 28, they will enjoy the 30% bonus credit in the following month after a 30 day cycle.

The 9ja Free Credit Promo received overwhelming response and we use this opportunity to re-affirm that we will continue to offer superior innovative products and services to our customers as  they remain the centre of our business.”

To enjoy this offer, Ammar said, all new subscribers to the Etisalat network need to ensure that they first activate their SIMs by dialing 200 and thereafter register their SIMs and begin to recharge as much as they like. Newly registered subscribers will have their recharges accumulated and 30 days from their first recharge, they will be credited with 30% of the value of their recharge, and this can be used to call and send SMS to all networks in Nigeria.

The bonus is open to all Etisalat prepaid and postpaid subscribers on easy starter, easycliq, elite world classic post paid and enuff yarn+ who are yet to register their SIMs.

The Etisalat SIM registration promo is geared towards making sure all its customers are registered before the NCC’s deadline of September 2011 in order to avoid the mandated disconnection of all unregistered SIMs from the innovative 0809ja network.

Despite the conclusion of the 9ja Free Credit Promo, SIM registration is an ongoing process and now a pre-requisite for any new subscriber to be active on the Etisalat network. Etisalat currently has more than 2000 SIM registration points in all its experience centres nationwide, distribution partners’ outlets and designated Oceanic Bank branches. Etisalat customers can visit or call 200 to check the SIM registration outlet nearest to them.
