Etisalat to give 5.5 million-naira and SUV to Nigerian Idol Season 3 contestants

Etisalat, one of the nation’s leading and most innovative telecommunications service providers is set to bring Nigerians another exciting season of the nation’s favorite reality show, Nigerian Idol to viewers in Nigeria. 

Speaking on the reality show, the Chief Commercial Officer, Etisalat Nigeria, Wael Ammar said, “Etisalat is a youth focused brand and as we all know, Music is one medium which resonates with the youth”. He noted that Nigeria is currently going through an artistic revolution in which music is playing a big part.

 “The music industry has seen many stars come up and become successful while we have many that are yet to become prominent and we at Etisalat see this as a huge connecting factor because the show seeks to bring unknown talent into the limelight and make them stars. We see music as a way of connecting with the Youths of Nigeria while at the same time giving them the opportunity to express their talents and becoming professionals”, he added.

Ammar noted that Etisalat is an innovative brand, and that through seasons one and two Etisalat has brought Nigerians unique ways of engagement through services like the voice SMS for voting and a Facebook application which would allow Nigerians to view exciting moments of the show.

He said that beyond the music platform, Etisalat has other youth focused programmes such as, Easycliq the service package for youths, Cliqfest Etisalat’s annual campus storm event as well as Eisalat’s Merit Awards which rewards students’ academic achievements. The CCO also unveiled the Nigeria Idol 3 theme song ‘Voice of Tomorrow’.

Nigerian Idol 3 contestants will look forward to snagging the 5.5 million-naira SUV that will be presented by Etisalat. This year’s show will extend its search for young talent to major cities across the nation. The cities of Abuja, Port Harcourt, Owerri, Benin City and Lagos will play host to hundreds of aspiring performers this year.

Auditions for the show will take place on 13th and 14th October in Abuja, 20th and 21st October in Port Harcourt, 27th and 28th October for the first time in the city of Owerri, 3rd and 4th November in Benin City and finally, on the 9th and 10th November in Lagos. The show will be broadcasted on  STV, NTA network and AIT.
