Etisalat Seeks For The Voice Of Tomorrow...As Femi Kuti joins the Judges

The most innovative and best network in Nigeria, Etisalat Nigeria, hunts for the next voice of tomorrow as the lead sponsor of the third Nigerian Idol, as it concluded its first audition in Abuja.

The audition which held at Rock View Hotel, Adetokunbo Ademola Cresent, Wuse 2, saw emotions and excitements of contestants ready to be the voice of tomorrow, with more than 2,000 youths from Abuja and neighboring states like, Jos, Nasarawa and Kaduna. 

Modupe Thani, Head Events & Sponsorships, said, “We are here to ensure that the next voice of tomorrow is empowered to maximize his/her potentials. With this year’s theme, “Be the Voice Of Tomorrow”. We urge all contestants to show passion and right attitude in order to win the enormous prize. We want the youth at the other venues of the auditions that did not make it to the next stage to continue practicing in order for them to become the voice of tomorrow in the next season of the Nigerian Idol”

Thani added “Etisalat decided to raise the bar at this season to encourage more youth to participate at this year Nigerian Idol. According to her, the contestants were delirious in their performances. We are delighted with the response of contestants at the Abuja auditioning. We are certain that Port Harcourt will surpass the attendance in Abuja”. 

Project Manager, Optima Media Group, Tewa Medubi, said that their expectations from the contestants are high and thus urged contestants to put up their best as they intend to position themselves as the voice of tomorrow.

She noted that the judges at the third audition were selected to bring out the best out of contestants in order to ensure that the season three brings out the very best out of the Nigerian youth.

According to her, “We are impressed with the massive turn-out of contestants at this third season in Abuja, especially the with the quality of talents displayed by the contestants and we are persuaded that youth from other audition states will come out to showcase the music talent in them”.

Medubi added, “We encourage the youth to show they have what it takes to be the voice of tomorrow by showing passion and ebullience”.

One of the judges at this year’s audition, Femi Kuti, noted that he would be firm with the contestants and would ensure that they have what it takes to be the voice of tomorrow while adding that with his loads of experience he would ensure fairness being one of the judges for the third season of the Nigerian Idol.

The first day of the auditions witnessed contestants, promenading to Rock View Hotel, venue of the auditions, with K-Switch entertaining the crowd with his style of music while day two of the auditions witnessed contestants performing before the judges.

The next auditions for the Nigerian Idols season 3 will be at the garden city of Port Harcourt on the 20th October at the Presidential Hotel, from where it will move to, Concorde Hotel, Owerri on the 27th of this month. The next audition which will hold in the month of November will be in Benin at Excalibur Hotel on 3rd November and the last phase of the audition will be in Lagos on the 10th November at Bamako Studios.

The Contestants were tested through audition process which enabled them to showcase their various talents young talents to win a prestigious recording contract, which is a way to celebrity and fate. 

The Judges at this year’s audition were Jeffery Daniels, Yinka Davies, and Femi Kuti.

Total prize for season three winner is a thrilling twenty million Naira which will be a 7.5 million Naira cash, 7.5 million naira record contract and brand new SUV, while the runner up will be presented with 1.5 million naira and a saloon car which will be presented by Etisalat.

The show will be broadcast on STV, NTA network and AIT come December 16th, 2012.
