Vodacom Business Nigeria has received the Beacon of ICT (BoICT) Award for Enterprise Solutions Provider of the year 2013. The company received the award as a result of its outstanding solutions and customer services.
The only ICT merit-centric recognition and award celebration in Nigeria, the BoICT Awards is held annually to recognize deserving talents, contributions and commitments to the growth of the ICT industry. This year over 55,000+ Nigerians voted in the different categories with Vodacom Business Nigeria emerging as the clear winner in the Enterprise Solutions provider of the year category.
Vodacom Business’ core infrastructure connects over 580 million people across more than 40 African countries and includes over 50 satellite transponders, 24 dedicated teleports and access to multiple sub-sea cable landing ports. By utilising on-the-ground support, Vodacom Business provides system integration and maintenance, high-speed Internet services, pan-African data networks, enterprise voice, wireless broadband and international VPNs to its customers.
“We are proud that we have been honored with the BoICT award; it proves that we are on the right path with our solutions and services. For over two decades we have provided our customers with end- to-end services, beginning with consultancy and planning, extending all the way through to deployment and ongoing maintenance. We use the latest technologies to provide our customers with communications to and within Africa, including simple voice provision, private networks and secure wireless Internet access” said Zakari Usman, Executive Head of Department Sales & Business development, Vodacom Business Nigeria.
“Product quality has asserted itself clearly in the judging process, with innovative solutions also being rewarded. Both of these criteria are not just yardsticks for good service but also for the potential for success in the Nigerian ICT industry. This potential will increase several times over by the continuous demand of ICT consumers for cutting-edge technologies in their growing businesses”, says Ken Nwogbo, Editor-in-Chief Nigeria Communications Week and organizer Beacon of ICT awards.
More than 120 guests from the ICT industry, with dignitaries like Ernest Ndukwe; Chairman Openmedia Communications Ltd, Leostan Eke; Chairman & Chief Executive Officer Zinox Technologies Limited among others were in attendance to celebrate the winners of the BoICT Award on 20 April 2013, which took place in Aurora hall of the Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos.
